Main Conclusion 

T&L Catering is a full service company that provides wedding/BBQ/corporate catering for corporate and private parties. In order to lower the overproduction waste and inventory and to add more value to the company, they use pull method. Based on the need and request from customers, they will customized food menu and venue decoration. Avoid of storing large food inventory will reduce large amount of holding costs, and as a result, making more profits.

It's important for T&L Catering to define and assign right person when each order comes. Based on the information received from customers, the company will determine the scope (bronze/silver/gold) and objectives (BBQ/Wedding/Corporate catering). And then assign the right project manager and team. Event managers should be able to communicate with customers and collaborate with team members to finish the project.

Inventory management is important for company to find problems and lower the holding cost to add more value. It's difficult for T&L Catering to find the appropriate amount of inventory to meet the competitive priorities. They are currently facing some problems of wasting time, and transportation costs due to the insufficient inventory. To solve this problem, we recommend the company to apply continuous review system in the process system.

Lessons we learned

It's very interesting to analyze a real company and learn about the whole supply chain process. The lean system, project and inventory management we learned in class are so practical that we can apply the knowledge we learned to solve a real problem for company. A successful company should also realize how management strategies will make a difference.
